5.3 Controlling the Mulvoc display

mulvoc-use-tooltips controls whether to use tooltips, if they are available. Tooltips and echo area messages are very transient, and can easily disappear before you have read them, particularly if you are typing fast, or using voice input. Mulvoc can use overlays to display the translations after the words that they refer to. To enable this, set mulvoc-use-overlays as required:

• If nil, mulvoc does not use overlays.
• If a number, it uses that many of them, per buffer. As more overlays are created, old ones are destroyed to reduce clutter.
• If anything else, it uses any number of them.
